Proposal-- Based on some findings from Mt. San Jacinto College's dedication to the freedom of speech, I propose a Campus Speaking Area to be designated where public forums and advertising can be placed so long as it is not slanderous or sexually obscene. Items of interest are discussions on political, social, and campus problems. This would directly benefit the students here at the University so as to promote diversity and improve the educational experience by increasing awareness to other cultures and opinions not necessarily on par with the majority. I feel that all printed material should be allowed in the area including: non-commercial party flyers, non-profit website awareness bulletins, and anything else deemed for public awareness. The University should not be able to discriminate or oppress any item or person participating in the forums or posting.
